A perfect combo, easy to make, and delicious

Ham & Egg Crescent Bake

This meal is an easy, go-to breakfast for an early morning coffee playdate, great for when company is staying overnight, or a lazy weekend morning, or the classic change-up of breakfast for dinner.

It has been some time since we have broken out this recipe, but one of the kids was asking the other night to do the “egg thing in the oven for dinner.” So, guess it is time to do it again!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls (we like store-brand, but Pillsbury works too, we did get this recipe from the Dough Boy)

  • 6 eggs

  • 1 cup diced cooked ham (or bacon, or turkey, or ground beef, or even chorizo)

  • 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper (or green pepper or yellow pepper, or other veggies)

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese blend (~6 oz, cheddar or Colby-Jack is preferred)

1) Heat oven to 375°F. Unroll dough, and press into bottom and 1 inch up sides of ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish. If using crescent rolls, press perforations to seal. Prick all over with fork.

2) Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until dough is set but not browned. (Set a timer!)

3) In medium bowl, beat eggs; pour into dough-lined pan. Top with meat, veggies, and cheese. (Don’t forget to season your eggs! salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc.)

4) Bake 17 to 22 minutes longer or until eggs are set and crust browns.

CRFW Pro Tip 🧑‍🍳 : This recipe takes really well to mixing and matching. Seriously. Try different veggies, mix up your meat choices. It’s a simple recipe that can be used with multitudes of leftovers.

Make it a goal to check out each one!

Splash pads, baby!

If you have to get out of the house and it is going to be, like… 10 million degrees outside, why not go somewhere fun and keeps the kids cool? Parents can run through the water as well!

The CR metro has 19 total splash pads! That is, if you also count the ones our friends have up in Center Point and down in Fairfax. We built a map just for you, save the link as a favorite in your phone for easy summertime fun.

That’s it for this week.

We spent quite some time trying to think up a snazzy outro and sign off, and just unfortunately came up empty handed… Sorry, not sorry.

Keep on sharing the newsletter with your friends and also let us know of any fun events around town!

Stay cool. It is entirely acceptable for you to buy Kona Ice for your kids this week; tell your spouse that we said its ok.
